Berat
Early morning departure to Berat, listed on UNESCO World Heritage, this mountain town in south-central Albania has a 2,400-year history that has gifted it with stunning archaeology, old quaint residential areas and well-preserved monuments. Berat is also a place where Christians and Muslims have lived together in relative peace, with churches and mosques sharing the same space even during the occupation of the Ottoman Empire. The town's landscape is part of Berat's charm, where picturesque stone houses on the steep hillsides seem piled on top of each other. On this tour, you will explore the historical neighborhoods of Mangalemi, Gorica and climb the castle for incredible views admire monuments including Berat Castle, King's Mosque and Gorica Bridge; and visit the Onufri Museum and the National Ethnographic Museum, as well as learn about Berat's fascinating history and architecture. Berat Kalaja is the biggest castle in Albania.
After lunch departure to Ardenica, where you can visit The Monastery of the Nativity of the Theotokos and the Church of St.Mary. The church is fully decorated with frescoes by two brothers, Constantine and Athanasius Zografi from Korca and a local painter, Constantine. After the visit, continue to visit the Ancient City of Apollonia. Here you can visit Archeological Site of Apollonia, Byzantine Church of St.Mary and the Monastery. Inside the Monastery you can visit Small Archaeological Museum.
